Project Details
Alwoodley Golf Club, which opened in 1907, was the first golf course designed by the renowned Dr Alister MacKenzie who is best known for his work at Augusta National, Royal Melbourne and Cypress Point. We were commissioned in 2008 to undertake a Course Review and subsequently carried out a 5-year plan of course improvements. Most of the work was focused on restoring the original shapes of the bunkers, and rebuilding some which had been lost, but we also advised on improving the heathland qualities of the golfing landscape. Although the course improvement project is substantially complete we are still retained in an ongoing consultancy role.
