Project Details

This project comprises of the design of 9 new holes for an established 18-hole course which has been carried out in conjunction with Sandy Burrell, a Director of the Club. The cost of course construction has been funded by incorporating over 250,000m3 of subsoil which has been imported from neighbouring construction sites to shape the course. The natural free-draining chalk soil was preserved and used under fairways, greens, tees and bunkers, while heavier imported soils were kept to the deeper rough areas between fairways. The new 9 holes will be paired with the longer of the existing 9’s, when it is fully opened in 2016, to provide a challenging course of over 6,900 yards in length from the back tees, reducing to just 5,700 yards from the front tees.
